NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - The Nashville Predators have come to expect this kind of performance from Pekka Rinne.
Rinne had 20 saves in his 100th career win, 3-0 over the Anaheim Ducks on Saturday night.
“He made a couple of saves in the second period that I thought were outstanding,” Predators coach Barry Trotz said. “I thought he stood tall. He shut the door. He was a big part of our win.”
The shutout was his franchise-record 22nd and second this season.
“It’s a nice number,” Rinne said of the club’s shutout record. “Hopefully, there are many more to come. I’ve played with good teams and good players.

The Nashville Predators and Anaheim Ducks take to the same sheet of ice for the first time since April 24, 2011 tonight at Bridgestone Arena, the day Nashville clinched its first ever playoff series victory with a 4-2 win. Over the course of the six-game Western Conference Quarterfinals, the Predators notched several firsts, including the franchise’s first overtime victory (Game Five).Jerred Smithson was the unlikely hero in the OT win, scoring just 1:57 into the extra session, but his line – which also includedNick Spaling and Jordin Tootoo – would combine for two more goals in Game Six.

O’Reilly
last season O’Reilly was the most-NHL ready young center in the system – and he took advantage of the opportunity to post 18 points in 38 games before suffering a season-ending injury on January 2 against Columbus.
Also stated,
it was increasingly more difficult to find opportunities for O’Reilly. Rather than risk losing him through waivers, the Preds were able to maximize a return and recoup a solid draft pick, while still knowing there’s enough organizational depth at the position to cover current and future needs.
